Went to Dave's valley Grill for supper. It had been years since we had gone. They have a happy hour from 3-6 pm which is nice. We started with the potato skins. They were delicious. My husband ordered braised short ribs with mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese. They brought out some biscuits with his green Chile chicken soup. The biscuits were very tasty. I ordered the fish and chips. They were on the happy hour menu. Again super tasty. Our waitress was very attentive and kept up on the tea refills. We will definetly be going back.

It's the day before Thanksgiving, and the boys from the VA Creative Writing group once again report on one of our all-time favorites, Dave's Valley Grill. There are two locations, and the one we are at is on the west side of I-25 but east of the Rio Grande. I can't believe I have not reviewed Dave's. My husband and I love this place so much that when we have guests from out of town this is where we bring them. The place has an adorable "fancy" diner kind of vibe and their bar area is also very nice. We like the different options their menu has to offer and that they also offer a full bar. We have always had the best service, food, and drinks which is why we love coming here.

We recently moved back to the North Valley and went into Dave's after voting one day. The bar area has a safari like tiger theme. The space is very welcoming and their bartender is one of the nicest people you could meet. After several stops in he knows what you drink and is quite the joker. I have been in for brunch which serves great mimosas and the hue is rancheros are made to order with a good amount of heat in their red chili. I have gone for happy hour and ordered great bites off the special menu. Reasonably priced items for a quick fix. I have had their meat loaf for a heavier meal, their bbq sandwich with golden French fries, their house salad, simple and fresh. My favorite is the fish tacos. They have this sauce drizzled on each taco and not sure what it is but the fish mixed with the cabbage topped with this sauce makes for a perfect fish taco. It's. Ice to have found this neighborhood restaurant. It has become one of our "go too" spots!

Great restaurant in the North Valley! The service by Lynette was awesome. The interior is fun and comfortable. We were impressed by the queso; the chips were thin and crisp and the queso thin but tasty. I got the fish tacos and oh my! The grilled haddock was tasty and the coleslaw with crema sauce perfect. The fries were crispy and well seasoned. My spouse got the Old Standard breakfast. The bacon was crispy, the eggs cooked perfectly, the potatoes were fine, and the pancake just right. We will return! We have got to try their cinnamon roll!

I didn't take a pic of my food...shame on me! However, this is the 3rd or 4th time getting the beef short ribs, and they are consistently unbelievably moist and tender and melts in your mouth! There are many great things to choose from on the menu, but this is a must to try! I've never had beef that fork tender! I've had many tender steaks at high price; the tenderness and flavor of these short ribs are hard to beat. Very highly recommend!

We had a fabulous lunch! There are lots of good things on Dave's menu. We were planning to get fish and chips. Alas, they aren't available at lunch. Partner got the 4th street burger. The bun was toasty, the burger cooked perfectly. The bacon was delicious. I had the prime rib dip. Another home run. The fries were crispy and crunchy. The host and server were spot on. Friendly service, attentive not intrusive. Dave's is comfortable; we never felt rushed. The music was in the background; not too loud. Another memorable meal. We're actually closer to High Desert Grill...will be trying it soon!

The breakfast burrito here was really good. It was our first time at Dave's valley grill, and probably won't be our last. The shrimp and grits wasnt our favorite but that's okay you don't have to love everything! The restaurant was busy but the service was fast and friendly. The ambiance was what you'd expect from a cafe, we liked it. The food portions were worth the money, and flavors in the sauces were delicious.
